3 models in this series

BFZ – further models: the collective page for trailers outside the named series, 35/53, BFZ 35/53 and BFZ-35/50, 720 to 830 kg unladen weight, 3,500 kg gross weight

This page collects the BFZ trailers that the register does not assign to any named series. Three types are listed: 35/53, BFZ 35/53 and BFZ-35/50. All three stand in the register as separate entries, and the designations themselves give no indication of a model year sequence.

The register lists 3 versions here with unladen weights from 720 to 830 kg, a gross weight of 3,500 kg each, and widths from 2,100 to 2,120 mm; one of the three versions also has a length of 6,600 mm.

With a gross weight of 3,500 kg, these trailers sit at the upper limit of EU trailer category O2, which begins at 750 kg and requires an overrun brake throughout. Towing only needs licence category B as long as the combination's gross weight stays below 3,500 kg, otherwise category BE becomes necessary.

With an unladen weight of around 720 to 830 kg against a gross weight of 3.5 tonnes, these trailers offer a high payload relative to their own weight and fall into the class that can still be towed on a category B or BE licence.

When buying used, check the condition of the axle and wheel bearings, the operation of the overrun brake and brake linkage, rust on the chassis and drawbar, and the condition of lighting and the electrical connector as well as tyres and wheels. Spare parts for such small makes usually come through independent trailer workshops rather than a manufacturer network; given the high permitted payload it is also worth checking the chassis and axle mounts.
