The four-cylinder diesel engine of 4,750 cm³ displacement produces 79 kW (107 hp) and moves a chassis 8,550 mm long, 3,035 mm wide and 3,500 mm high, with a wheelbase of 4,350 mm and an unladen weight of 10,230 kg. Here too the ratio of engine power to length and weight is well below that of an ordinary field tractor and points to a design focused on load-carrying rather than field work.

At a top speed of 22.9 km/h, the MLPT-354M1 falls within driving licence category L up to 40 km/h. As with the ML-131, the length of over 8.5 metres requires marking as an over-length vehicle in road traffic and corresponding attention when turning and in oncoming traffic on narrow roads.

When buying such a long chassis second-hand, the condition of the frame for distortion, the bearings of the axles across the wheelbase of almost 4.4 metres, and the tightness of the engine and hydraulics matter. Because so few such special versions were built, spare parts for frame and attachment components are usually only obtainable through custom remanufacture or salvage. Given the long wheelbase, it is also worth checking wheel alignment and the condition of the drive joints, since uneven loading of a long chassis wears them faster.
