The engine is a water-cooled four-cylinder diesel of 3,769 cm³ producing 72 kW (98 hp) at 2,400 rpm. The tractor is 3,630 mm long, weighs 2,125 kg and reaches a design top speed of 40 km/h. This combination of over 70 kW and an unladen weight of just over two tonnes makes the tractor comparatively powerful for its segment.

With close to 100 hp from a four-cylinder at a comparatively low unladen weight, this tractor is among the stronger compact machines of its class, of the kind needed for professional work on specialty-crop land and in municipal use. At 40 km/h it falls within Germany's T driving-licence category. Implements mounted on the front linkage at this engine output are usually matched with a category I linkage.

When buying used, what matters is the engine's operating hours, the condition of the hydraulics for changing implements, the steering and brakes given the top speed that is high for a compact tractor, and, if used in a vineyard or orchard, rust on sheet-metal parts from crop-protection chemicals. The PTO shaft and clutch linings should also be checked, since these parts wear particularly with frequent implement changes. Spare parts run through the Antonio Carraro dealer network.
