The AS160 from the AS range was built by Anton Schlüter in Munich between January 1957 and April 1959; the initials AS in the name refer to the Anton Schlüter brand itself. After the early wartime models, Anton Schlüter continued tractor production in the 1950s with new, civilian-oriented ranges, among them the AS range.

The AS160 is powered by a water-cooled single-cylinder diesel engine with 1,506 cm³ displacement, producing 11.7 kW or 16 hp at 1,500 rpm. The machine is 2,525 mm long, 1,580 mm wide and 1,585 mm high, has a wheelbase of 1,650 mm, weighs 1,300 kg and reaches 19.4 km/h.
At 19.4 km/h, the AS160 falls into driving licence category L. As a single-cylinder small tractor of the late 1950s, it was built for smaller farms, at a time when Anton Schlüter was already working in parallel on more powerful multi-cylinder tractors.
On this single-cylinder tractor, now over sixty years old, check the injection pump and starter motor, the frame and sheet metal for corrosion, and the smooth operation of the steering and brakes; parts are now only available through collector circles and specialist suppliers.
