White was the silver tractor brand that emerged in 1969 from Oliver, Minneapolis-Moline and Cockshutt and was taken over by AGCO in 1991; the Workhorse series of the 1990s was the last range under the AGCO White name, built at the former White plant in Coldwater, Ohio, before AGCO dropped the brand in 2001. The type logic: 6 marks the range, the last digits the hp class – 6124 and 6125 about 125 hp, 6144 about 145, 6175 about 175, 6195 about 195, 6215 about 215 hp – Workhorse the equipment name of the range. The engines are Cummins six-cylinders: the B5.9 of 5.9 litres in the small and the C8.3 of 8.3 litres in the big models, at 2,200 rpm; the transmission was the 18-speed Quadrashift powershift, the cab the one developed by White with the wide all-round view that the AGCO-Allis sister models also carried – the Workhorses are technically twins of the AGCO Allis 9600s and 9700s in silver.

The Workhorses were sold only in North America and are today the last collectors' pieces of the White brand, whose history began in 1969 with the merger of three traditional makes.
