The AGCO White 6010 series formed, in the 1990s, the mid power segment of the US brand AGCO White, whose parent group AGCO is headquartered in Duluth, Georgia; the White Farm Equipment brand was absorbed into the new corporate structure in 1991 following AGCO's takeover. The 6410 to 6810 models follow a four-digit type logic in which the last two digits mark the power step within the series – from the 6410 as the entry model to the 6810 as the most powerful version.

At this power class the 6010 series targeted mid-sized to larger arable farms and forage operations, competing there against Massey Ferguson, Ford/New Holland and Deutz-Fahr; like the entire AGCO White brand, the 6010 series was withdrawn from the market in the late 1990s in favour of other AGCO brands.
On a used buy, what counts is the condition of the injection pump, turbocharger and cooling system, the tightness of the hydraulics, corrosion on the chassis and wings, and the limited parts supply, since the brand has long been discontinued and spares must be sourced through independent farm-machinery dealers and aftermarket brands.
