Zetor Proxima: the Czech entry-level line of the 2000s
The Proxima is Zetor's straightforward mid-range series, built in Brno. It launched in 2004 as part of the new Unified Row I (UR I) generation, which replaced older Zetor lines with engines meeting tighter emissions limits, and stayed in the catalogue well into the 2010s.

The register lists 41 live models in this series, from the PROXIMA 65 up to the PROXIMA 95, plus the four-wheel-drive variants PROXIMA 6441, 7441 and 8441 with their 4x4 designations. Output ranges from 44.9 to 86.2 kW, weight from 3,130 to 5,000 kg. All models share a four-cylinder engine of roughly 4,150 cm3.
Zetor positioned the Proxima deliberately below the more powerful Forterra as a budget-conscious all-rounder for smaller and mid-sized farms: mechanical transmission, a simple cab, limited electronics. That made it one of Zetor's best-selling lines across Central and Eastern Europe.
Buyers looking at a used Proxima should check whether four-wheel drive was fitted as standard, since it was not on every early model, and inspect the clutch and gearbox for wear after high operating hours.
