Vauxhall CF – the collective page of the British GM van: built as the Bedford CF from 1969 in Luton, 2.3-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, unladen weight of 1,410 to 2,380 kg, gross weight of 2,340 to 3,500 kg

The Bedford CF, registered as the Vauxhall CF in some markets, is the light van General Motors' British commercial-vehicle arm Bedford built in Luton from 1969 as the successor to the Bedford CA, offering it into the 1980s in several payload and wheelbase variants. Vauxhall itself, part of General Motors since 1925, focused in Britain on passenger cars, while Bedford operated as the group's separate commercial-vehicle brand. It was powered either by the in-house 2.3-litre four-cylinder petrol engine or by diesel engines from the GM group, in van, flatbed and minibus bodies.

The register lists here 7 versions with the 2,254 cm³ four-cylinder, unladen weights from 1,410 to 2,380 kg, gross weights from 2,340 to 3,500 kg and widths from 1,920 to 2,250 mm.

Alongside the Ford Transit and the VW Transporter T2/T3, the CF was one of the defining light vans of 1970s and 1980s Britain, serving trades and commerce and as the basis for motorhomes, before Bedford disappeared as a commercial-vehicle brand in 1986 following its sale to AWD Trucks.

On a used CF, rust on the frame, wheel arches and door bottoms, the condition of the carburettor or early injection, the clutch and gearbox, and the braking system count; since the brand has been off the market for decades, parts are mainly available through specialist Bedford clubs and classic-vehicle dealers.
