The 9000 range from Steyr, dating from the 1990s, comprises three versions in the register – the 9078, 9086 and 9094 – whose model numbers denote rising power class. Like the rest of the Steyr line-up, these tractors were built at the Austrian plant in St. Valentin. At the time, the range belonged to the mid power segment of the Steyr model line-up, positioned between the smaller and larger series on offer.

That early flexibility over fuel made the range attractive to farms already experimenting with home-grown biodiesel.
