Sisu Auto of Karjaa in southern Finland, founded in 1931 as Suomen Autoteollisuus, is Finland's own independent lorry maker and remains specialised to this day in heavy, off-road special vehicles for forestry, winter road maintenance, the military and heavy haulage. The LV-131 was the manufacturer's heavy range of the 1980s, with codes such as CIT, CVT and EIT in the model name denoting cab and gearbox variants. The vehicles were powered by Sisu's own six-cylinder diesel engines, whose engine plant became AGCO Power after the sale to AGCO in 2004 and has powered Valtra tractors ever since.
