Shuttlelift cranes 3330 to 7755 – the carry-deck and industrial cranes from Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin: the first digits as capacity class, F and B as versions, four-cylinders of 3.3 to 4.5 litres, 63 to 97 kW
Shuttlelift of Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, is, beside Broderson, the second American specialist for carry-deck cranes – compact self-propelled cranes with telescopic boom, all-wheel steering and load deck that lift loads in factory halls, refineries, power stations and shipyards and drive straight to the installation point; the company belongs to the Manitowoc group and also builds gantry cranes for boats and precast concrete. The type logic: the first digits order the capacity class in ascending order – 3330 and 3339 about 8 to 9 US tons, 3340 about 10, 5540 and 5560 about 15 to 18, 7755 about 22 US tons – the following digits give the boom length by factory logic, F and B mark versions and generations, FL a variant with long boom. The engines are four-cylinders of 3.3 to 4.5 litres at 2,500 to 2,600 rpm – as diesel, petrol or LPG versions, LPG being the rule indoors.

The register lists 7 versions with 63 to 97 kW from engines of 3,300 to 4,502 cm³ and service weights from 6,078 to 19,505 kg.
The carry-deck crane is an American speciality hardly known in Europe; Shuttlelift and Broderson share the market of maintenance departments and shipyards, in which mini cranes and telehandlers take over the job in Europe.
On used cranes, operating hours, the condition of telescopic boom, slew ring and outriggers, all-wheel steering, gas system on LPG engines, load-moment limiter and inspection history count; parts run through Shuttlelift and the engine makers.

What to check before buying
- Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
- Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
- Check the weights in the papers against the figures here — attachments change them.
- Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
