The Scania P94 belongs to the Scania 4 series introduced in 1995, whose type code combines cab and engine family: P denotes the low, off-road-capable cab, G and R the taller cabs, T the now-discontinued cab-over-engine cab, and the number 94 the chassis with the 9-litre six-cylinder engine. The P94 was thus the compact, manoeuvrable version for distribution traffic, construction sites and municipal work within the 4 series, continuing Scania's modular system of shared components across several cab and engine variants. Scania, headquartered in Södertälje, has been fully part of the Volkswagen Group since 2014.
