Rated output within it ranges from 100 to 132 hp; the ANTARES 100 sits at the bottom of that range with 100 hp. Its immediate neighbours are the ANTARES 110 above it with 110 hp. Unladen weight within it ranges from 3,400 to 5,250 kg; here the ANTARES 100 sits at the bottom of that range with 3,400 kg. 21 SAME (SLH) models across 7 series are on record.

SAME Antares series: the SLH era of the 1990s from Treviglio, four types from Antares 100 to Antares II 130, 73.5 to 97.1 kW from four- to six-cylinder engines of 4,000 to 6,001cc, 3,400 to 5,250 kg kerb weight

The Antares series was developed at SAME of Treviglio during the SLH era of the 1990s, when the company operated as the SAME Lamborghini Hürlimann group following its acquisition of Lamborghini Trattori and Hürlimann, before the 1995 acquisition of Deutz-Fahr formed today's SDF group. The models Antares 100, 110, 130 and Antares II 130 rank the types by power class; the II designation marks a revised second generation of the 130 hp model.

The register lists 4 versions with 73.5 to 97.1 kW from four- to six-cylinder engines of 4,000 to 6,001cc, torque from 347 to 469 Nm at 2,500 rpm, kerb weights from 3,400 to 5,250 kg, lengths from 3,860 to 5,140 mm, widths from 1,900 to 2,250 mm and heights from 2,620 to 2,890 mm.

The Antares series positioned SAME in the upper mid-range for large arable farms in Italy and southern Europe, competing with Fiat models of similar power class as well as with sister brands Lamborghini and Hürlimann, which offered comparable series under their own branding at the same time.

When buying used, check operating hours, clutch and gearbox condition, engine and hydraulic oil-tightness, and corrosion on the cab and chassis; since SAME, Lamborghini and Hürlimann built technically closely related models during this period, spare parts supply through the SDF dealer network remains comparatively good even for older Antares models.

What to check before buying

  • Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
  • Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
  • Check the weights in the papers against the figures here — attachments change them.
  • Check front and rear tyre sizes: mismatched pairs strain the drivetrain.
  • Shift the gearbox cold and warm — jumps only show up at temperature.
  • Load the hydraulics and watch for sag.
  • Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
