Nissan e-NV200 – the battery-electric van based on the NV200: pure electric drive with no combustion engine, unladen weights of 1.5 to 1.8 tonnes, also offered as pick-up and tipper, lengths around 4.6 m

The e-NV200 is the battery-electric version of the Nissan NV200, a compact van that Nissan has offered since 2009 as the successor to the Vanette, alongside the combustion version. Nissan launched the e-NV200 in 2014, using the drivetrain of the electric car Leaf, which the maker has built since 2010; production of the e-NV200 ran at the Barcelona plant in Spain. The model designation in the register also distinguishes pick-up and tipper versions besides the standard panel van, built by third parties on the e-NV200 chassis, since Nissan itself only produced the panel van.

The register lists here 7 versions with unladen weights of 1,490 to 1,815 kg, a gross vehicle weight of 2,220 to 2,255 kg, lengths of 4,560 to 4,600 mm and widths of 1,760 to 1,790 mm.

The e-NV200 was among the first series-produced electric vans in Europe and targeted urban delivery services, tradesmen and municipalities, for whom range and charging time of the battery marked the decisive difference from the diesel NV200.

On a used example, the condition of the traction battery (capacity loss, charge cycles, warranty history), the function of the charging port and charging electronics, and – as with any commercial vehicle – rust on the sliding door and load floor and the condition of brakes and suspension all count; parts and battery diagnostics run through the Nissan service network.

What to check before buying

  • Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
  • Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
  • Check the weights in the papers against the figures here — attachments change them.
  • Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
