The Trekker is Landini's crawler tractor – a layout that never died out in Italy because the slopes of Tuscany, the vineyards of Sicily and the olive groves of Apulia demand traction and soil protection that wheeled tractors cannot offer. Landini of Fabbrico, since 1994 the core of the Argo group, has built crawlers since the 1930s, and the Trekker range of the 2000s and 2010s is the modern form: hydraulic steering clutches, cab or roll bar, PTO and rear linkage as on a wheeled tractor. The type logic: the number roughly gives the output in hp – Trekker 75, 85, 95 and 105 – F marks the orchard version (Frutteto) with narrow track, M the standard version with wider track for field work. The engines are Perkins four-cylinders of 4.4 litres in naturally aspirated and turbo form.
