Its immediate neighbours are the 6430 below it with 115 hp and the 6430 Premium above it with 125 hp. Unladen weight within it ranges from 4,735 to 5,880 kg; here the 6534 sits in the lower part of that range with 5,080 kg. 2622 John Deere models across 140 series are on record.

John Deere 6030 series (2006–2011) – Mannheim's mid-range before 6M and 6R: 6130 to 6930, Premium and Standard, the number as size class, PowerTech Plus, 60 to 114 kW

The 6030 series was John Deere's mid-range from the Mannheim plant from 2006 to 2011 – the successor to the 6020s and the range that brought the transition to Stage IIIA with the PowerTech Plus engines with common rail and EGR. The type logic continues the Mannheim tradition: the 6 stands for the series, the second digit orders the size class in ascending order – 6130 the four-cylinder entry model, 6330 and 6430 the four-cylinder mid-range, 6530 to 6930 the six-cylinders – the 30 the generation; the 6534 was an intermediate model with a four-cylinder at the output of a small six. Premium marked full equipment with AutoPowr continuously variable transmission, suspended front axle and cab suspension, Standard the simpler version – the split Deere renamed 6R and 6M in 2012.

The register lists 11 versions with 60.4 to 114 kW (105 to 150 hp where output is recorded), 4,525 to 6,788 cm³ with four or six cylinders, torque from 399 to 696 Nm, unladen weights from 4,735 to 5,880 kg, gross weights up to 11,000 kg, lengths from 4,289 to 4,728 mm, widths from 2,275 to 2,316 mm and heights from 2,718 to 2,858 mm; the rear linkage lifts 6,800 kg.

The 6030s are regarded as one of the most reliable Mannheim generations: PowerTech Plus without particulate filter, AutoQuad or PowrQuad powershifts with long service life and cabs that anticipated the standard of the 2010s – reasons for their popularity on the used market.

On used tractors, operating hours, the condition of engine and powershift, the AutoPowr transmission and front-axle suspension on Premium models, hydraulics and loader mounting and the cab electronics are what count.

What to check before buying

  • Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
  • Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
  • Check the weights in the papers against the figures here — attachments change them.
  • Check front and rear tyre sizes: mismatched pairs strain the drivetrain.
  • Shift the gearbox cold and warm — jumps only show up at temperature.
  • Load the hydraulics and watch for sag.
  • Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
