Humbaur was founded in 1957 by Anton Humbaur in Donauwörth as a sales agency for agricultural machinery, trailers, ploughs and grain mills; the company moved to Gersthofen near Augsburg in 1980 and entered the distribution of car trailers in 1981, from which it grew into one of Europe's leading trailer manufacturers.
