Hanomag, the Hannoversche Maschinenbau AG, was founded in 1835 in Hanover as a locomotive works, and from the early 20th century the company also built trucks; the F range (F45, F55, F65, F66) were the mid-weight trucks of the post-war years, the Kurier a light van of the 1950s. In 1969 the truck division became part of Hanomag-Henschel, and in 1971 Daimler-Benz took over the commercial-vehicle business, which subsequently became part of Mercedes-Benz; the Hanomag brand name disappeared from the truck programme at that point.
