This page gathers the Ford tractors the register could not assign to a named range – from small utility tractors of the North American and British plants to the heavy articulated tractors of the Versatile brand, taken over by Ford in the late 1980s. Ford had built farm tractors since 1917, first in Dearborn, from the 1930s also in Dagenham, England; the post-war 600 to 900 models led in 1965 into the Thousand series (2000, 3000, 4000, 5000), replaced in 1975 by the generation with a leading 0. From 1981 came the 10 series (2110 to 8210), in which the first two digits give the size and the last the generation; SU marks the narrow-track Utility version. The big articulated tractors, formerly built under the Versatile name in Winnipeg, ran from 1987 as the Ford FW with Cummins and Caterpillar engines; after the merger with New Holland in 1991 the independent Ford range ended.

For decades Ford was, alongside International Harvester, Massey Ferguson and John Deere, one of the best-selling tractor brands of North America and Europe, focused on utility tractors for family farms; the FW-range articulated tractors competed in the top power segment with Steiger and Case IH.
On used tractors, engine condition, clutch and gearbox synchros count on the older ranges, hydraulics and electrics on the 10 series, and on the articulated tractors operating hours, condition of the four-wheel drive and tyres, and parts supply for the Cummins or Caterpillar engines, which today runs outside the Ford network.
