The Farmer 300 of the LS generation were Fendt's bread-and-butter tractors of the 1980s: presented in 1980 as successors to the Farmer 200 and the 100 range, built in Marktoberdorf and, with over 100,000 units up to the replacement by the Farmer 300 Ci and C in 1993, the most-built Fendt range of its time. The type logic: Farmer marks the mid-range, 3 the series, the last digit the power step – 303 about 52 hp, 304 about 60, 305 about 65, 306 about 70, 307 about 75 hp – LS the equipment with the Fendt turbo clutch, the hydrodynamic starting element that allowed starting under load without clutch wear, LSA the four-wheel-drive version. The engines are MWM diesels from Mannheim: the three-cylinder D 226-3 of 3.1 litres in the small, the four-cylinder D 226-4 of 4.2 litres in the big models, at 2,175 to 2,350 rpm – water-cooled, robust and with mechanical injection pump.

The Farmer 300 LS are today the most sought-after used tractors of their class in southern Germany and Austria – grassland farms value the turbo clutch, the agility and the parts supply, and prices for good 306 LSAs lie far above those of comparable brands.
