The X4110S 340KV from SunnySky, a Chinese maker, is a classic multicopter outrunner with a 41 mm stator for mid-size aircraft. The type code gives a stator diameter of 41 mm and a height of 10 mm; the motor measures 48.2 mm across and 30.5 mm in height on the outside.

It weighs 150 g and its KV is 340. On 6S at 22.2 V that works out to about 7,500 rpm at no load; it is rated for 6S, and the recommended propellers run from 15x5.5 to 18x6.1, that is 15 to 18 inches. The maximum values of 400 W and 18 A apply for 30 s. They are short-term values; in a hover the load sits below them, and they cannot be compared with figures resting on 10 s or 180 s.

For EU classification the take-off mass of the whole aircraft is decisive: C1 below 900 g, C2 below 4 kg, C3 and C4 below 25 kg; Remote ID is mandatory for C1 to C3. Motor, ESC and 6S battery must match. A multicopter with four such motors carries 600 g of motor mass and so sits clearly above class C0.

In selection watch the exact KV step: the series comes in several steps that are easily confused in listings. On 6S with propellers up to 18 inches, peaks during acceleration load the ESC, which needs headroom above 18 A. Wear parts are the bearings, the winding insulation and the rotor bell with its magnets.

What to check before buying

  • Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
  • Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
  • Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
