SIYI Technology (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. MK15 Enterprise Handheld Ground Station

The MK15 Enterprise from SIYI Technology (Shenzhen) is a handheld ground station with an integrated radio link for video, control and data, intended for enterprise drones in the mid-size multicopter class. The system carries two video streams at once, for example from two cameras, at 1080p each. As a handheld ground station it combines screen, remote control and radio modem in one device and works with an air unit in the drone.

The ground station decodes 1080p at 60 fps; the frame rate of 60 fps refers to this decoding. The manufacturer gives the 15 km range for clear line of sight and without distinguishing FCC from CE; under CE rules it often turns out clearly lower in practice. The system offers 13 physical and 16 communication channels. The air unit weighs 74 g and, according to the specification, corresponds to the HM30 air unit; the ground station itself weighs 850 g. The 74 g therefore does not apply to the whole system.

In the EU, equipment may be operated only in the approved frequency ranges and power levels; the CE conformity of the version delivered should be clarified before use. In the open category visual line of sight applies, and a range of 15 km is no selection criterion there. It matters for operations in the specific category, which require an operational authorisation.

When choosing, ask whether the ground station fits the tasks: a device with screen, battery and transmitters weighs 850 g and has to be charged before the operation begins. Battery condition and firmware on both sides should be checked before each use. Wear shows at the control sticks, the antennas and the ground-station battery, and the air unit needs heat dissipation in the aircraft.
