Sentrycs Portable Kit

The Sentrycs Portable Kit is a portable set of control unit, smart antenna, tripod and server for drone detection and takeover. Detection works passively via the radio link, and the takeover happens at protocol level without jamming and can separate a drone from its pilot and make it land safely. Other variants are the Fixed Kit, Vehicle-mounted Kit, Scout and Horizon; the manufacturer names police, events, prisons and critical infrastructure as fields of use.

The system combines two functions with different legal positions: detection only receives, the takeover transmits actively. The takeover happens without jamming the radio spectrum, but it requires that the system supports the drone's protocol. Drones without a radio link stay undetected by this sensor. The functions include geofence settings, separation from the pilot and the safe landing.

Because the system transmits actively, the manufacturer's note reads: use only by authorised authorities. Active defence remains with the state: in Poland under Art. 156ze of the Aviation Law (Dz.U. 2025 item 179), in Germany with the police, whom the armed forces support under § 15a LuftSiG through administrative assistance. Who may operate jammers is set by § 91 TKG in Germany and Art. 42 of the Electronic Communications Law (Dz.U. 2024 item 1221) in Poland: authorities only. Detection alone can be considered by operators of critical infrastructure, airports and event organisers; radio detection touches the secrecy of telecommunications (Fernmeldegeheimnis), and its classification is considered open.

With cyber-takeover systems, which drone protocols are supported decides; new models and firmware versions call for updates. For the portable set, set-up time, battery run time, the weight of the parts and antenna placement without shadowing count. The server belongs to maintenance, with software versions and data backup.
