The Iron Drone Raider is an autonomous interceptor drone from Ondas Holdings (Iron Drone, USA). It launches from a container, flies radar-guided to the target, locks onto it by image processing and captures it with a ballistic net lowered on a parachute. The manufacturer names stadiums, the military, critical infrastructure and industry as fields of use.
The emphasis lies on the capture principle: the radar guides the drone to the vicinity, image processing takes over target lock, and the net on a parachute allows a controlled descent of the captured target, which reduces the risk from falling parts. For places with people below, such as stadiums or industrial sites, that is the reason for this principle. The launch container stands in a fixed place, and the design serves protection of a site.
As an interceptor the Raider is an active countermeasure and belongs to the state sphere. Destroying, disabling or taking over a drone is reserved to designated state bodies in Poland under Art. 156ze of the Aviation Law (Dz.U. 2025 item 179); in Germany hazard prevention rests with the federal and state police, and § 15a LuftSiG governs support by the armed forces through administrative assistance. Who may operate jammers is set by § 91 TKG in Germany and Art. 42 of the Electronic Communications Law (Dz.U. 2024 item 1221) in Poland: authorities only. For private operators such as stadiums or industrial sites, only detection functions generally come into consideration in Germany and Poland.
Points to watch are stock and storage of the interceptors in the container with batteries, net mechanism and parachute, functional checks of the radar guidance and the weather resistance of the launch container. Parachutes must be inspected and repacked to the manufacturer's rules, and the net is to be replaced after use.

What to check before buying
- Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
- Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
- Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
