The HOTA F6+ (4x125/250W) is a four-channel charger for small FPV drones with mains and DC input. HOTA is a charger brand for RC and FPV batteries with the D6 Pro, P6 and F6 series. The model is regarded as discontinued; anyone taking over a used unit should check the fan, the connection sockets and the balancer sockets.

Four channels charge four batteries independently of one another, with the total power shared between them. The maximum power of 1,000 W applies only on DC input above 24 V; on mains it is 500 W in total, so with even distribution 125 W per channel against 250 W on DC. The charge current is at most 15 A, the cell range 1S to 6S. LiPo, LiIon, LiFe, LiHV, NiCd, NiMH, NiZn and lead-acid are supported. The input accepts AC 100 to 240 V or DC 6.5 to 30 V; the unit weighs 935 g and measures 115 × 126 × 87 mm.

Lithium batteries are charged only according to the manufacturer's instructions, under supervision and on a non-flammable surface, ideally in a charging bag; damaged or swollen packs stay away from the charger. Anyone charging LiHV chooses the LiHV mode deliberately: it raises the end-of-charge voltage from 4.2 to 4.35 V per cell, and an ordinary LiPo pack charged that way is overcharged. The charge current must not exceed the value permitted in the battery data sheet.

When choosing, the supply decides: only above 24 V DC are the 1,000 W available, on mains only half. 100 Wh of pack energy charges in 24 minutes by calculation at 250 W per channel, plus the time for balancing. Packs that are to sit for a long time belong at storage voltage of about 3.8 V per cell; many chargers offer a dedicated mode for this.

What to check before buying

  • Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
  • Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
  • Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
