The Holybro Kakute H7 V2 (China) is an FPV flight controller in 30x30 format with an STM32H743, BMI270 gyro, BMP280 barometer and analogue OSD. Holybro lists it as no longer in series production. The firmware is Betaflight or ArduPilot.
The H743 at 480 MHz offers reserves for ArduPilot and elaborate filters. The BMI270 is a widely used gyro in Betaflight boards, and a barometer provides altitude. Interfaces are 6 UART, of which UART2 is used for Bluetooth telemetry, an AT7456E OSD and 9 outputs, the ninth intended for LEDs. The input voltage is 3S to 8S LiPo. The board measures 35 × 35 mm with a hole pattern of 30.5 × 30.5 mm and weighs 8 g.
In the EU the class follows from the finished drone: below 250 g C0 applies, below 900 g C1 with Direct Remote ID. Anyone flying with goggles needs an observer in the open category.
When selecting: for new builds the successor is clarified with the manufacturer, for existing boards the firmware versions. Operation up to 8S calls for good capacitors and clean solder joints, because voltage spikes damage the board. The Bluetooth telemetry occupies UART2, which is then missing for other devices. Wear shows at solder pads and the USB socket; before updates the configuration is saved, after modifications the attitude is calibrated.

What to check before buying
- Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
- Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
- Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
