The NR800 from Hertz Systems (Poland) is a portable multi-band drone jammer from the HAWK family. It jams several frequency ranges at once in which drones are controlled and thereby breaks the link between pilot and aircraft. Whether the drone then returns, lands or crashes is determined by its failsafe.
On the limit of who may operate: jammers may be operated in Germany and Poland only by authorities. In Germany every use of frequencies requires an assignment (Section 91(1) TKG); authorities may use frequencies assigned to others only for statutory tasks and within the conditions of the Bundesnetzagentur, and drone defence follows Section 15a LuftSiG. In Poland the framework is Article 42 of the 2024 Electronic Communications Law, and drone defence is governed by Article 156ze of the Aviation Law (Dz.U. 2025 item 179). A multi-band device naturally affects more other radio services than a narrowband one.
The manufacturer states an effect range of up to 1 km and a runtime of up to 60 minutes. The unit is multi-band, weighs 7.8 kg and measures 530 × 446 × 456 mm; it counts as portable, not handheld. Police and military are named as fields of use. Roughly half a metre of edge length means in practice a unit that is carried and set down rather than held in the hand.
In selection the multi-band design stands against the weight: several bands usually need several transmit chains, which raises mass and energy demand and limits power per band. For devices of this class the wear points are the battery (cycle count, cell voltage), cooling in continuous operation, antennas and connectors, plus the software version. As with all radio jammers, the method does not work against drones without a radio link or with fibre-optic control. Approval and frequency coordination belong to the procurement route.

What to check before buying
- Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
- Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
- Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
