The FALCON Carbon 20.5x12 (C2E20512WV2) from Falconhobby GmbH (Germany) is a two-blade carbon fibre electric propeller in the V2 version for large fixed-wing models. At 20.5 in diameter it is among the larger propellers that run at low rotational speed on electric fixed-wing aircraft.
The diameter is 20.5 in and the pitch 12 in, just under 60 per cent of the diameter: a rather fast layout aimed at cruising speed rather than static thrust. At this diameter the propeller works best at low rotational speed, and that calls for a motor with a low KV rating. Two blades keep efficiency high, and the carbon fibre keeps them stiff. The bore is 8.1 mm; the propeller does not fold.
On large model aircraft, mass and mode of operation decide the classification. Electric fixed-wing aircraft stay in the open category up to 25 kg; class C4 covers model aircraft without automatic flight modes. Operator registration is mandatory from 250 g. With a propeller of this size, distance from people and a de-energised drive before any work at the propeller are essential.
On selection, motor, cell count and speed count: only they decide whether 20.5 in at 12 in pitch brings the motor to its rated current or overloads it. Small damage on the leading and trailing edges is critical on long carbon blades because delamination starts there; cracks or frayed edges are a reason to replace. Balancing also includes checking that the 8.1 mm bore sits concentrically, because a wobbling propeller sets up vibration throughout the fuselage.

What to check before buying
- Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
- Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
- Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
