The EVE INR21700/50PL is the high-power round cell in the 21700 format from EVE Energy, in a tabless design, meaning without individual current-collector tabs. It is designed for small FPV drones with high current demand, where a cell must deliver a great deal of current for short periods, for example in fast manoeuvres.
Nominal capacity is 5,000 mAh (minimum 4,800 mAh) at 3.6 V, giving 18.0 Wh per cell. The maximum discharge current is given as 125 A, which is 25C, with a recommended cut-off at 75 °C; how long 125 A can flow is therefore set by the cell temperature. In addition there is a pulse of 180 A for 2 s. Both figures have a time basis and cannot be compared with continuous ratings of other cells. The weight is at most 72 g, the dimensions 21.15 × 70.15 mm including the sleeve.
Six cells in series (6S1P) come to 108 Wh and so lie between the IATA limits of 100 and 160 Wh; there the airline must agree to carriage of spare batteries. Lithium cells must meet the tests of UN 38.3 for transport, and spare cells are protected against short circuit, for example in the original packaging. Joining cells into a pack belongs in a specialist workshop with test and protection equipment.
In terms of wear, heat counts most. The higher the current and cell temperature, the faster the cell ages, and at 125 A cell connectors and contact surfaces in the pack carry a large part of the load. Voltage sag under high load depends on internal resistance; it is larger in the cold. Round cells with high-current claims are often counterfeited, so buy only from reputable dealers.

What to check before buying
- Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
- Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
- Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
