The EMAX ECO II 2207 1900KV is an FPV outrunner from the ECO line for 5-inch quadcopters with 5 to 5.5-inch propellers, permitted on 3 to 6S. EMAX is a Chinese maker of model-flying and FPV drive components. The motor is built with N52SH arc magnets, a 9 mm bearing from EZO and a 16x16 mm mounting pattern.

The 2207 stator is 22 mm in diameter and 7 mm in height. At 1,900 KV the motor turns roughly 21,100 rpm unloaded on 3S (11.1 V nominal) and roughly 42,200 on 6S (22.2 V). The suffix SH after the magnet grade N52 stands for increased temperature resistance: neodymium magnets lose strength in heat, and a higher grade pushes that limit up. The 16x16 mm pattern is the usual hole spacing for motors of this size on 5-inch frames.

Between 3S and 6S the voltage differs by a factor of two, and that shapes the design: the propeller sets the load, the cell count sets the speed, and together they set the current. A 5.5-inch propeller on 6S loads motor and speed controller (ESC) much harder than a 5-inch propeller on 4S. Motor, controller and battery must carry the same cell count. For the rules, the whole drone counts: EU classes C0 to C6 by take-off mass, operator registration from 250 g or with a camera, and remote identification (Remote ID) from class C1.

For wear, the bearing seat matters most: the 9 mm EZO bearing sits in a small housing, and sand or moisture from landings in grass show up as roughness. Other checks are the shaft for distortion, the bell for rub marks on the stator and the phases for equal resistance. The winding ages under overload; varnish discolouration is a sign of too high a load or too large a propeller.

What to check before buying

  • Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
  • Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
  • Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
