The CubePilot Here3+ is a DroneCAN GNSS module with RTK capability for medium-class multicopters. Australian maker CubePilot builds it around a u-blox M8P-2, an STM32H757 processor and the ICM42688 and RM3100 sensors. It succeeds the Here 3.
The M8P-2 is a single-band receiver: it uses only L1 of GPS (L1C/A), GLONASS (L1OF) and BeiDou (B1I). Without a second band the ionosphere cannot be removed; at a large distance from the base it affects base and rover differently, so single-band modules are more sensitive there. For RTK the manufacturer states 0.025 m, that is 2.5 cm, and 2.5 m in a plain 3D fix. Position is output at 8 Hz. The compass is an RM3100 and the link runs over DroneCAN at 8 Mbit/s. The module weighs 51.8 g; its predecessor, the Here 3, weighed 48.8 g.
At 2.5 cm in RTK mode the module suits applications where a few centimetres are enough, such as precise holding and navigation, and less a survey demand around one centimetre. The EU classes apply to the aircraft: from C1 upward geo-awareness and remote ID are mandatory, both rest on the GNSS position, and RTK replaces none of the duties. Correction data come from a nearby base of your own, a radio link or NTRIP; with a single band, short baselines are favourable.
Selection needs an autopilot with a CAN port and DroneCAN support. The compass sits in the module, so the unit belongs on a mast, far from power leads. It is calibrated after installation, and the CAN node firmware must match the autopilot version. With a used module, a look at the firmware version and the connectors is worthwhile.

What to check before buying
- Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
- Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
- Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
