The CUAV X7+ Pro from China is an industrial autopilot for heavy multicopters that works with PX4 and ArduPilot. It addresses heavy platforms that need many connections and redundant sensors.
The processor is an STM32H743 with a Cortex-M7 at 480 MHz, 2 MB flash and 1 MB RAM. Three IMUs of different types – ADIS16470, ICM-42688-P and ICM-20689 – spread the risk of a common fault; the ADIS16470 is an industrial-grade MEMS IMU module. Two MS5611 barometers and an RM3100 compass complete the sensors. Connections available are 14 PWM (12 of them DShot), 5 UART, 6 I2C, 2 CAN, SPI, ADC, RC (PPM/SBUS/DSM), 2 GPS, 2 × USB-C and microSD. The input voltage is 4.5 to 5.5 V (USB 4.75 to 5.25 V, servo rail 0 to 36 V). The unit measures 77 × 45.5 × 39 mm and weighs 105 g; the X7+ without Pro is listed at 101 g. ArduPilot runs from 4.1, PX4 from 1.13.
The US NDAA procurement rules exclude flight controllers from Chinese manufacturers from federal contracts. In the EU the class follows from the finished drone.
When selecting, plan the 5 V supply through a suitable power module. Vibration damages the IMU and corrupts the attitude estimate, so damping at installation is decisive; wear shows in noise of the IMU values and at the connectors of telemetry and GPS cables. The firmware needs the stated minimum versions, and after every modification the sensors are calibrated.

What to check before buying
- Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
- Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
- Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
