Doosan's wheeled excavators carry two naming generations that show the company's transformation: the Solar models – S55WV, S140WV, S160WV, S180WV, S210WV – come from the Daewoo era before 2005, when the excavators were still called Daewoo Solar; W stands for Wheel, the wheeled excavator, V for the offset boom that is standard in Europe. The DX range from 2007 – DX55W, DX140W, DX190W, DX210W – is the Doosan generation with the same logic: the number gives the weight class in hundreds of kilograms (DX140W about 14 t, DX210W 21 t), -5 the fifth generation with Stage IV, MH the handling version with elevating cab. Since 2023 the division has traded as Develon; the DX nomenclature continues.
