Deutz-Allis 6000 series – compact farm tractors from the US brand active 1985 to 1990: Deutz engines, 24 to 61 kW, 6035 to 6080 models, precursor to AGCO Allis
Deutz-Allis was an American brand that existed from 1985 to 1990, formed after Deutz acquired a majority stake in the agricultural equipment division of Allis-Chalmers; the tractors ran on Deutz engines, built partly at Deutz-Fahr's plant in Lauingen and partly at White. The 6000 series formed the lower power class; the register covers the 6035, 6060, 6070 and 6080 models with two- to four-cylinder diesel engines.

The register holds 4 versions rated at 24.6 to 61.8 kW (33 to 84 hp), with engines of 1,885 to 3,287 cm³ and two to four cylinders. Weights range from 1,930 to 2,767 kg, lengths from 3,330 to 3,805 mm, widths from 1,600 to 1,857 mm and heights from 2,350 to 2,621 mm; engine speed is 2,300 rpm.
As compact farm tractors, the 6000 series covered smaller and medium-sized farms and part-time agriculture, competing with comparable Deutz-Fahr and Ford models in the same power class. When the Deutz-Allis brand ended in 1990, the models carried on under the successor brand AGCO Allis.
When buying used, check the engine and injection pump, clutch and gearbox, and rust on the panels and mudguards. Since the brand existed for only a few years, spare parts availability is more limited than for the successor models; parts mostly come through dealers specialising in Deutz-Fahr and Allis-Chalmers.

What to check before buying
- Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
- Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
- Check the weights in the papers against the figures here — attachments change them.
- Check front and rear tyre sizes: mismatched pairs strain the drivetrain.
- Shift the gearbox cold and warm — jumps only show up at temperature.
- Load the hydraulics and watch for sag.
- Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
