The Arion 400 is Claas's four-cylinder mid-range between 90 and 140 hp – built in Le Mans, the former Renault tractor plant Claas took over in 2003 and with which the harvester maker from Harsewinkel became a full-line supplier. The type logic: Arion marks the mid-range (above the Axos and Elios, below the six-cylinder Arion 500 and 600 and the Axion), 4 the four-cylinder range, the last digits the power step – 410 about 95 hp, 430 about 110, 450 about 125, 460 about 135 hp – CIS and CIS+ the equipment lines with the operating concept, Panoramic the cab with continuous windscreen up into the roof that the range received in 2015. The engines in the first generation were John Deere PowerTech four-cylinders of 4.5 litres – Claas sourced the engines from Deere before the FPT engines of 4.5 litres followed in 2013 – at 2,200 rpm; the transmissions are the 16-speed Quadrishift powershift and the 24-speed Hexashift.
