The Optum is the range with which Case IH closed the gap between Puma and Magnum in 2015: a standard tractor of 270 to 340 hp that at about 11 tonnes is lighter than the Magnum and with stepless transmission aims at European contractors and arable farms – built in St. Valentin, Austria, the Steyr plant where the Optum is made as twin of the Steyr Terrus. The type logic: Optum marks the range, the number the hp class – Optum 250 about 250 hp, 270 about 270, 300 about 300, 340 about 340 hp as the most powerful model since 2021 – CVX and CVXDrive the stepless transmission (CVT in the 2016 to 2017 nomenclature), AFS Connect the generation from 2020 with new cab and telematics. The engine in all models is the FPT NEF six-cylinder of 6.7 litres at 2,200 rpm – the smallest engine of its power class, with two-stage turbocharging and SCR exhaust aftertreatment to stage V.

The Optum won the Tractor of the Year title in 2016 and is Case IH's answer to the Fendt 900 Vario, John Deere 7R and Claas Axion 900 – the power-to-weight ratio is its argument.
On used tractors, operating hours, engine and SCR system, CVX transmission (oil history, calibration), front-axle and cab suspension, hydraulics, electronics and guidance system, tyres count; parts run through CNH.
