Bungartz of Munich was in the 1950s one of Germany's best-known makers of single-axle tractors and small tractors – the company built rotary tillers and walking tractors from 1934 and after the war the four-wheel tractors of the T range, small, narrow machines for nurseries, vineyards and smallholdings, before giving up tractor production in the 1960s. The type logic: T marks the tractor range, the number the size step – T 5 with 12 or 13 hp, T 6 and T 7 with up to 20 hp – E a version variant. The engines are bought-in single- and two-cylinder diesels of 0.67 to 1.0 litres at 2,600 to 3,000 rpm, as Hatz, Farymann and Sachs supplied to the small makers, in one version also as a petrol engine; at 0.74 to 0.90 metres wide the machines are narrow-track tractors that fit into the vine row.
