With its deeply lowered cab floor, the Magnum competed in long-haul transport chiefly against the Volvo FH and the Scania R/S range, while the Kerax as an off-road truck with concrete-mixer, tipper or crane bodies competes directly with the MAN TGS and Mercedes-Benz Arocs; the special bodies in the register show how widely the chassis is also used for municipal and forestry work.

On a used example, what matters on the Magnum is the condition of the cab mounts and air suspension, the clutch and gearbox, and frame corrosion; on the Kerax additionally the transfer case, differential locks and the condition of the off-road tyres; on all heavy versions an unbroken service history and the condition of the brakes, and on special bodies the registration and roadworthiness certification of the respective body.
