For decades Neoplan ranked among the most innovative European bus makers and, with models such as the double-decker Skyliner and the Spaceliner, shaped the image of the long-distance coach. The vehicles gathered here show the breadth of the marque, from city and minibuses to touring and double-decker coaches for long-distance service.
When buying used double-deckers, the seals of the large glazed areas and the condition of the staircase structure deserve particular attention, as does corrosion of the floor and wheel arches. As with any coach, the engine, gearbox and brakes should be checked for oil leaks and even braking, and on low-floor models the kneeling system as well. Parts for the engine and drivetrain are usually still available through the independent bus parts trade, while body and interior parts are often only obtainable from salvage or by special order.
