Chassis in this weight class serve as the base for municipal and commercial bodies such as cranes, tippers or workshop vehicles, as the Midlum is regarded across Europe as a robust and widely used platform for such conversions. The consistently near-maximum width of about 2.55 m shows that the bodies use the permitted vehicle width in full.

For a used example, the body mounting points on the chassis, the hydraulic lines, and the frame and axles deserve particular attention for corrosion and distortion, since retrofitted bodies introduce additional bores and loads into the frame. Given the high gross weights, the braking system and tyre condition should be checked closely; chassis parts are supplied through the Renault Trucks service network, body parts through the respective bodybuilders.
