Allis-Chalmers was a US farm machinery maker with its main plant in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The FD series with the types FD-3, FD-4 and FD-5 ordered the models by ascending size according to the digit; the designation FD marked the diesel versions of each power class. Milwaukee had been the central Allis-Chalmers site since the company's founding in 1901 and remained so until the end of independent tractor production in the 1980s.
