From the mid-1960s Zetor developed in Brno the Unified Range I (UR I), a new, modularly built tractor generation that replaced the older Zetor series and remained in production into the 1990s. This collective page brings together the types 4712, 5711 and 6711 from the UR I's 7 series; the first two digits of the four-digit type designation give an approximate power class in hp, while the following digits mark cylinder count and version. The engines came from Zetor's own diesel engine production in Brno.

The register lists 3 versions with 33.1 to 47.8 kW (45 to 65 hp) from three- and four-cylinder diesel engines of 2,592 to 3,456 cm³ displacement, torque figures of 144 to 191 Nm at 2,200 rpm. Unladen weights range from 2,050 to 2,620 kg, lengths from 3,160 to 3,670 mm, widths from 1,727 to 1,790 mm and heights from 1,600 to 1,635 mm.
The UR I formed the backbone of Czechoslovak farm machinery and was exported in large numbers to Comecon states as well as through Western trade; in this power class it competed with smaller IHC and Massey Ferguson types of the era. The rugged, easily serviced design made the range a standard tractor for medium-sized farms.
When buying used, check the condition of clutch and gearbox, rust on wings and cab, the tightness of the hydraulics, and the cylinder head and injection pump of the diesel engine. Parts for engine, gearbox and axles remain well available through the Czech Zetor parts trade and independent farm machinery dealers.
