The single-cylinder engine runs on crude oil and produces 12 hp, or 8.8 kW. At 1,630 mm high and 2,030 mm wide, the Zaporozhets weighs 2,390 kg and reaches a design top speed of only 4.2 km/h.
Crude-oil engines of this early type usually ignited the mixture via a glowing hot-bulb head rather than a conventional injection system, and ran correspondingly slowly but with high torque. The very low top speed of 4.2 km/h shows that such early tractors were meant practically only for walking-pace draught work, not for travel over longer distances.
When handling such a rare historic tractor, the preserved condition of the crude-oil engine, especially the hot-bulb head and the fuel feed, matters most, as working original parts for this early design are barely to be found today. Restorations often rely on remanufactured components, so documentation of each individual example's history is decisive for its value. The spoked wheels and belt drive are also worth checking for cracking in the old material, and any running example should be started only under close supervision given its age and simple safety features.
