Yanmar TL Series

The model codes follow a pattern common across the compact-loader industry: VS and RS usually denote the boom's lift kinematics — vertical (VS) or radial (RS) path. A vertical-lift boom keeps the bucket closer to the machine while lifting and reaches greater stacking heights, while a radial path offers more reach at low lift heights.

TL loaders mainly see use where a wheel loader is ruled out by poor traction or excessive ground pressure — on loose, wet or uneven terrain, for example in landscaping or on earthworks sites with changing ground conditions.

For a used track loader of this type, the condition of the rubber tracks and the road wheels matters most, along with the tightness of the boom cylinders under full load.

In short: despite being filed under the wheel-loader programme, the TL Series is technically a track-loader line — worth a second look at the undercarriage when comparing it against true wheel loaders.
