Yanmar SV Series

While Yanmar's ViO line has built on the zero-tail-swing principle (the rear never swings out past the tracks) since 1993, the SV line is the later addition to the programme and is sold alongside it — both lines share the compact-excavator segment but differ in undercarriage and swing concept.

SV excavators mainly see use in landscaping and gardening, utility trenching, and tight inner-city jobsites where manoeuvrability matters more than raw digging depth.

For a used machine in this class, undercarriage and tensioner-roller condition matters most, since these wear disproportionately from frequent trailer transport, along with the tightness of the arm and bucket cylinders — small leaks usually show up there first.

In short: the SV Series is not a predecessor or successor to the ViO line but a second, parallel compact-excavator family in Yanmar's programme.
