The Workhorse series was built by White Farm Equipment, the US tractor maker formed in the early 1970s from the merger of the Oliver, Minneapolis-Moline and Cockshutt brands under the White Motor Corporation. The 125, 145, 170 and 195 type numbers in this series clearly match the engine power in horsepower: the power figures recorded in the register, roughly 122 to 192 hp, line up almost exactly with the type sequence. All four models are built as six-cylinder diesel tractors in the upper US power class.
