Westhoff Other models

The register lists here 21 versions with unladen weights from 320 to 1,010 kg, permissible gross weights from 1,300 to 3,500 kg, lengths from 5,100 to 9,080 mm and widths from 1,790 to 2,550 mm.

As with other boat-trailer makers, the focus is on leisure boats on inland waters and coastal areas; the lighter BT types around 1,300 kg gross weight can be towed unbraked, while the heavier versions need an overrun brake. The Koelwagen model adds a special case for refrigerated transport, clearly different in build and use from the rest of the boat trailers.

When buying used, what counts is frame corrosion from water contact, the condition of the keel rollers and bunks, and the function of the winch and strap, plus on the braked types the overrun gear and brake linings. Wheel bearings should be checked especially carefully given the frequent submersion during launching, as should the lighting system for moisture in the connectors. On the Koelwagen version, the condition of the refrigeration and insulation technology should also be assessed.
