Articulated tractors such as the Uniknick occupied a niche between classic farm tractors and construction machinery: their tight turning circle made them interesting for work in confined conditions, such as municipal service or smaller, awkwardly shaped plots, where a tractor with a steered front axle would have needed a markedly wider turning radius. Compared with classic farm tractors, though, the design remained a niche solution built in comparatively small numbers.
On used examples, the condition of the articulation joint and its bearings, the tightness of the steering hydraulics, the state of clutch and gearbox, and rust on the frame and sheet-metal parts all count; spare parts for this rare design are scarce and run mostly through collectors and workshops specialising in articulated vehicles.
