Volvo Flatbed truck (BA)

The register lists 35 versions here with 70 to 449.5 kW, all with six-cylinder engines of 2,978 to 16,120 cm³, kerb weights of 2,300 to 27,350 kg, gross vehicle weights of 2,950 to 42,000 kg, lengths of 5,350 to 11,220 mm and widths of 1,880 to 2,675 mm.

Alongside Mercedes-Benz, Scania, MAN, DAF and Iveco, Volvo Trucks ranks among the leading European heavy-vehicle makers and has traditionally been market leader in Scandinavia, including Finland. As open flatbed vehicles, the Volvo trucks gathered here mainly serve construction, forestry and haulage, where loads are handled from the side or by crane rather than in an enclosed box body.

When buying used, Volvo's inline six-cylinder engines should be checked for turbocharger, injection system and AdBlue/SCR condition, along with the condition of the flatbed, side rails and any fitted cranes or tail lifts. The frame, axles and air suspension should be checked for corrosion and wear relative to mileage. Volvo supplies spare parts through its dealer network across Finland and the whole of Scandinavia, with independent commercial-vehicle workshops supporting older model years.
