The Volta Zero stands on six wheels with a wheelbase of 4,800 mm at a length of 9,280 mm and a width of 2,550 mm. The vehicle weighs 9,500 kg empty, with a gross vehicle weight of 16,000 kg, and top speed is limited to 90 km/h.

At a gross vehicle weight of 16,000 kg the Volta Zero falls into EU class N3 above 12 t. Kerb weight and gross weight differ by 6,500 kg of payload margin. The battery-electric drivetrain and the low-set, heavily glazed cab were deliberately developed for good visibility of cyclists and pedestrians in city traffic, a focus that sets the Volta Zero apart from classic diesel-powered distribution lorries of this weight class.

Buying such a new electric lorry second-hand, the battery is the central concern of any inspection: remaining capacity, charge cycles and the condition of the battery management system determine value far more than the body or chassis. The low, heavily glazed cab should be checked for scratches and stone-chip damage on its large windows, and since this is a very young model, it is worth checking which workshops can service the high-voltage technology it needs.
